We offer Chrisitan Formation experiences for people -toddlers through adults. We offer Sunday morning formation classes for Nursery through Twelfth Grade (the J2A group is currently trying a Sunday morning meet time), and adults. And we offer child care from 9-noon on Sunday mornings for infants and toddlers. Monthly service opportunities for youth. Season celebrations for all ages
The vestry is the governing board of a local Episcopal parish and consists of the rector, the wardens, and lay members. In many parishes, the rectors, wardens and the treasurer form an executive committee and will often meet separately from the whole vestry between vestry meetings.
Unlike some denominations, the Episcopal Church uses a representative form of government instead of a pure democracy. The vestry is the group elected by the individual members to make the basic decisions about the church budget and manage the temporal affairs of the parish.
Green Group
A new ministry at Christ Church, the Green Group consists of parishioners who are activity interested to mildly curious about environmental sustainability. It is open to all members of Christ Church, and we invite friends, colleagues, and family members to join us for discussions and projects.
Although the faith community has implemented many sustainable practices already, the Green Group plans to provide additional recycling opportunities to parishioners, and they are working to make the church property energy efficient. Group members are reviewing current policies, procedures and practices and will recommend changes to make our operations more environmentally friendly, as well as cost efficient. Currently, the church has two Abitibi paper containers in its south parking lot, in which parishioners and other members of the community can recycle paper. We also offer ink toner recycling, as well as recycling for household batteries. In addition, we are in the process of setting up can, bottle and plastic container recycling stations in the church building.
In the future, the group plans to host book discussions and other forums where the community can discuss the spiritual aspects of environmental sustainability, and why we, as Christians, are called to use creation wisely and to examine how our own practices impact our environment—as well as the safety and well-being of others locally and around the world.

Music
Christ Episcopal Church Choir is a dedicated group of singers who meet twice a week to sing for the glory of God. Our core repertoire are the euphonious Tudor anthems that are the heart of Anglican music, but we also have a large repertoire of modern anthems and hymns, traditional African-American gospel, and old American revivalist songs.
Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm, and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 am. Auditions are not required to join the choir, and anybody is welcome.
In addition to our Sunday worship services, the choir also participates in occasional evening services (Taize, Evensong, Advent Lessons & Carols), and we produce one major concert every year.
For more information, please contact Music Director Nathan Carterette at music@cometochristchurch.org.
CEC Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee is responsible for distributing money entrusted to us by the Session. In 2008 it was approximately $1500 for Millenium Development Goals and $2000 for general outreach. In addition, we spearhead projects throughout the year that ask the rest of the congregation to get involved: the Homeless Standdown in February;
the Heifer International collection at Easter; outreach days at Shaker Square – North Union Farmers’ Market from late spring to early fall, one Saturday morning every 3 – 4 weeks; weeks of hosting IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) families throughout the year (we hosted for one week in October 2008, and intend to host several times each year thereafter).
At present the committee functions as a combined mission / community outreach committee. New members are encouraged and welcome to become involved; in order to expand our mission to IHN and the market days we need to increase our numbers and spread the responsibility for organizing projects among several people. We would like to make a significant contribution to our community, through IHN and the Shaker Hts Community Hunger Center, as well as to organizations serving the poorest of the poor throughout the world.
Members of the Acolyte Guild participate in Holy Eucharist as acolytes, crucifers, torch bearers and masters of ceremony. Acolytes
assist members of the clergy in preparing for the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist as well as other important liturgical functions.

Daughters Of The King
The Daughters of the King is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate.
Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish.
