About Us

About Us

We are a friendly Episcopal church, committed to serving our community through worship, outreach, pastoral care, Christian education, and the arts.

Our name reflects exactly who we are: Christ's church. The heart of our ministry is living and proclaiming Jesus' Way of Love.

Located in the popular Van Aken District, we strive to create a welcoming environment where folks from all walks of life can come together to grow in their faith and serve others.

We believe in spreading the love of God through our actions and words, and we invite you to join us in this journey. We offer a variety of services and programs for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including worship services, Bible studies, youth groups, and community outreach programs.

We are an Affirming Church!

That means our LGBTQIA+ siblings can expect to be welcomed & loved. We follow the policy of the Episcopal Church: ordination, employment, marriage, baptism and communion are open to our LGBTQIA+ siblings.

We're proclaiming by word and example the Good News of God in Christ, seeking and serving Christ in all persons.

What to Expect

We are a mixture of cradle Episcopalians, persons from other Christian denominations, and persons with no church background. Similarly, our worship style varies. Feast days are more high church with incense, bells, and long processions. We have a lighter experience during ordinary time with music from the piano. Our music preferences range from full organ with choir to a cappella spirituals.

We have two Sunday services. The 8:00 a.m. is an intimate service in the chapel with sermon and Eucharist, valuing  the simplicity of quiet with no music. The 10:30 a.m. service is enriched with music, choir, and acolytes and is live streamed on YouTube. We typically follow the Rite II service, found in the Book of Common Prayer. We celebrate "Holy Eucharist" which means a sacred giving of thanks every week. (You can watch past livestreams of our worship services here on YouTube).

Church service lasts about an hour, and there is no dress code. God delights in you no matter what you wear!
