About Us
|
Christ Church is a congregation of the Episcopal Church and part of the Anglican Communion. We are a congregation where all are welcome at Christ's table — without exception! |
Who We Are |
We are families, couples, empty nesters, and singles.
We are youthful vitality and we are wisdom. We come from Shaker Heights, Ohio, across the country, and the world. We are the arts and we are music. We are compassionate. We are racial, economic and ethnic diversity. We are loving – regardless if you are "straight" or LGBT. We are progressive. We are imperfect. We are Christ Church. |
Our History |
Christ Church's history dates back to 1869 at East 29th Street and Orange Avenue in Cleveland, when the congregation consisted mainly of German immigrants. In 1896, the church moved to 108th Street and Superior Avenue, and had become an English speaking parish.
Since 1927, Christ Church has called Shaker Heights home. For 95 years, we have served our community with worship, outreach, pastoral care, Christian education and the arts. Christ Church celebrated its 150th anniversary of serving the greater Cleveland community in 2019. |
